Below are the most common questions that we are asked by our customers. The responses provided are based on our years of experience in the waste industry.

Should you have a more specific question or even if you would like some further information, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

How much does a skip bin cost?

Red Bins Skip Hire guarantees the best prices for skip bin hire in The Shire.

The price of skip bin hire is determined by:

1) The size of the skip bin required

2) The type of waste being put in the skip bin

What size skip bin do I need?

It can be hard to visualise the size of a skip bin that is needed for a project.

One trick of the trade is to measure out the dimensions of the pile of waste that needs dumping and do the maths.

For example, if you have a pile of bricks measuring 2m across, with a height of 1.2m and depth of 1.5m, your approximate amount of waste is 3.6 cubic meters and you will require a 4m skip bin.

Of course this formula isn't completely fool proof, so if you require a bit of guidance, please don't hesitate to call.

How long can I keep a skip bin?

Red Bins stocks one of the Sutherland Shire's largest inventory of skip bins - This means we can afford to let our customers keep our bins for that touch longer.

The standard length of time that we allow our skips to be kept is a full 7 days. However, if you require a skip for any longer, contact us and we'll do our bester to cater for you.

If you only require your skip for a few days or less, we are happy to do early pickups.

What can I put in the skip bin?

I have identified a sample of a few of the more common materials that my customers dump in their skips:

Mixed demolition and building waste:
- Timber, plasterboard, flooring, doors & windows, kitchen cupboards, glass (no mirrors though... I don't need the bad luck!) etc.

Concrete & bricks:

- Broken paths, slabs, walls and driveways.

Green waste & untreated timber:

- Branches, trees, hedge trimmings, pallets etc.

Household & office clear-outs:
- Furniture, appliances, boxes, books, old tools & toys etc.

- Computers, monitors, printers etc.

Customers are not able to dump potentially harmful materials such as asbestosis - this waste can pose an environmental hazard if it is not disposed of in the correct manor.

If you would like to dump a material not listed above, please get in touch and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction.
